Jason Pierce founded Smart Recipe Consulting to enable any organization to become a Great Place to Work. His aim was make available to small- and medium-size businesses high quality training and consulting services equal to those which larger organizations have access to and benefit from. Jason’s intent is to level the playing field by creating a recipe that an organization of any size can follow.

So impressed with the video training modules that Jason had produced, his father Gerry Pierce – who spent his 41-year career building a Great Place to Work at Wegmans Food Markets – decided to retire and join Jason in helping other companies follow the Smart Recipe.

Gerry Pierce shared this about his belief in Smart Recipe:

“We built an amazing culture at Wegmans through execution and passion. Unfortunately, we did not do a good job of defining and creating a road map for sustained employee engagement. Jason, however, has created a recipe that could change the industry. I wish I had access to these trainings while I was at Wegmans.”

Wegmans CEO acknowledges Gerry Pierce’s tremendous contributions to the company:

Gerry has been an incredible leader and great friend for many years. In fact, we both attended the same grammar school together and have shared many memories. He developed one of the finest HR systems in the country, perhaps the world, and he provided us a blue print for us all to follow. Wegmans has been recognized on Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For for 19 years. We will miss Gerry, but as his strength, he has left a spectacular team to bring things to even a higher level. We wish Gerry the very best.
